Built by the fiberglass division of Astilleros Gondán, the Luis R is the third vessel developed by this shipyard for Líneas Romero, following the Don Juan R and the Alexandro R.

With a length of 31 meters and capacity for 350 passengers, the ship features a hull made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (GRP) and an optimized design to improve its performance while sailing.

Its setup incorporates systems aimed at reducing vertical movement, favoring a more stable and comfortable voyage.

The Luis R operates on Líneas Romero's routes with La Graciosa, offering a comfortable alternative for those who wish to discover this unique destination from Lanzarote.

In addition, its name pays tribute to Luis Romero, a member of the family's second generation and an important figure in the company's history.

Juan Jorge R: Speed, comfort, and efficiency

The latest addition to this new fleet renewal phase is the Juan Jorge R, a Fast Ferry designed for maritime connections between the Canary Islands.

Since July 31, 2026, the Juan Jorge R operates on the Playa Blanca - Corralejo route, connecting Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

With 31 meters in length, a 10.5-meter beam, and capacity for 360 passengers, the new ferry is equipped with two 1,400 HP engines and can reach speeds of up to 20 knots.

These features deliver agile and comfortable navigation, making ferry travel from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura a convenient choice for both residents and visitors.

The Juan Jorge R is built with GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), a material that reduces the vessel's weight and contributes to greater energy efficiency.
